timeout (noun)

Definition: time for rest or recreation away from one's usual work 🌊

Designing lets me craft and mold experiences for people, tell stories, and hopefully save the planet in the process. Besides the creative endeavors that I am part of, I believe in seeking out other avenues to explore and learn from. Everyone deserves a timeout once in a while!

Body

The older I got, the more I wanted to push myself to learn how my body works and learn its limits. I learned the best way for me is to start competing in Obstacle Course Races.

Several injuries and wins later, I think I am in tune with my body more than ever.

Materials

Watching countless YouTube videos of ceramic molding and designs of ceramic objects, I developed an interest in the art of ceramic casting. I took upon to learn the techniques and the art itself.

Further research of the material led me to design a build a passive speaker that used the inherent properties of ceramic to amplify sound.

Sounds

I got into EDM to help me concentrate when I am sketching, model-making and the works. Then I figured why not make my own. I bought a pair of Pocket Operators from Teenage Engineering to learn and experiment with sounds.

I make tunes now whenever I feel too bogged down by work.

Gastronomy

Food is life! I love trying out different cuisines and experiment with recipes and adding my twist to it. I am in awe of Heston Blumenthal’s work as he approaches taste and smell with science. I try (stressing on try) emulating him when trying out new dishes.

If I wasn’t a designer, I would have really loved to be a chef.
